Lead Consultant Atelierdb Architects delivered a 68 key hotel for the Zetter Group of Hotels in the Bloomsbury Estate, Camden.

The 6 Georgian Grade ii listed townhouses had been converted into two hotels early in the 20th century, The Whitehall and Blooms but we’re poorly arranged and in need of full renovation.

A complete internal demolition was undertaken with Iceni Heritage helping record and protect historic features that remained from the original townhouses. Few original internal features remained, with just localised cornice in some areas, 3 curved timber doors, and some original window shutters.

The original concept by Heres placed the suite rooms in the lower ground. Atelierdb saw the opportunity to best position these at first floor – reinstating the piano nobile principle and creating magnificent suite rooms with pod style ensuites.
